In regards to the group projects, how will we be expected to work together on those projects? Will we use the hangout option, email, etc?

Yes, it will be some combination of those technologies. After the groups are set, you will need to work with the other members of your group to establish a communication routine that works for all of you.
We will have some practice with this. For the analysis and remix assignments, you will work in small peer groups that will provide each other with feedback on early drafts of your project. Those groups will need to communicate with each other and share documents. This can be accomplished via email or a combination of email and Google Drive. In our group hangout sessions, we can discuss how you can best collaborate on these projects using a range of services.
