Spring break 2010 I was in Ocean City, Maryland and all my friends were talking about twitter and how amazing it was. I kinda was feeling left out of the conversation so that day on my iphone I set up a twitter account on my iphone. As a long time facebook user it was very difficult for me to understand how twitter worked and why it was so popular. In a way I feel that twitter gives too much information to everyone in the twitter community. I don’t care if you are hung over, I don’t care if you broke up with your boyfriend, and I don’t care if you want heaven to bring back M.J. There are so many aspect of twitter I do not like and in a way Steven Johnson agree but, in his article he point out many ways in which twitter is beneficial. Twitter gives everyone an opportunity to connect with people and express how they are feeling. You can join a group and be connected and share knowledge about the world and your experiences.

In the past people would go to many different stores in order to get the items the needed for there homes. Now these items are all found at one giant superstore and only one stop is necessary for everything you need. When people used to go to many stores they would see lots of people and they would communicate with them and then move to the next store where the would meet others. I feel we have moved away from that lately in society. Twitter gives us a way to communicate with lots of different people at the same time to share views and ideals.

Twitter gives creativity to the user from posting pictures, videos, and many others. Its a new way to look at social media that facebook can not replicate. Overall, I understand why twitter is so attractive to many people but I have had trouble finding the passion of tweeting. Steven Johnson and his article “How Twitter Will Change The Way We Live” Gives great opinions on how twitter is beneficial and creative. I guess its not just for everyone.
