During last class we were given the opportunity to remix all of our blogs into one. At first I was thinking that I would never be able to mix all of those blogs into one common idea. However, once my partner and I started remixing it almost became addicting.
It was very interesting to see what the whole class came up with and the different types of remixes made. My partner and I chose a topic, took one sentence from each blog that we’ve posted that can be associated to that topic and mixed them all together. However, other groups had other creative and fun ways of doing it as well. Some put sentences together and crossed words out, and some made poems and took words out from their blogs. It was a way for people in our class to express their creativity.
I really enjoyed this in class assignment because it gave me the opportunity to take something already written and exposed to me and make it different. I can relate to Girl Talk and how they love to create their music too. It is a different way to express yourself. The difference is I don’t have an immense passion for remixing, and Girl Talk does. They shouldn’t be limited to their creativity because it defines their talents and who they are.
Another thing I enjoyed about this assignment was how we were able to relate to an article and movie we watched. Remixing blogs wasn’t easy so doing that I was thinking about how people remix songs. That in itself must be on a whole different level and must take time, skill, talent, and creativity. None of which should ever be limited and through this project I not only learned to somewhat remix, but gained a lot of respect for people like Girl Talk.
