World of a Library #engl303

In the reading, “Library of Babel” by Jorge Luis Borges, he basically shows us how the whole idea of a library means a lot of things. In a library, we have computers, books, desks, librarians, students etc. There are times where now the internet has become such a huge sensation. However, Borges does introduce to us a different type of library. Wierd shaped. Wierd things that are in his world of a library. Like what is the opposite of a regular library? Different shapes, different sections wierd gallaries. It did make me wonder suppose people really did come across a library as such. The picture that is shown in the reading is so crazy. Makes me imagine myself walking into WVU downtown or evansdale library and seeing that in front of me. It’s like walking into a maze and can’t get out! Borges library is a dream. Now, switching gears to Borges other peace of work titled, “the garden of forking paths”. My understanding of this reading is what is real and what isn’t? What is actually a reality in life? When it comes to the history and the past things that of “supposedly” happen, how do we really know it happened. We can come to an agreement that things may seem real but can really just be a pigment of our imagination. Borges states in the reading “The Garden of Forking Paths is an incomplete, but not false, image of the universe” In my opinion this means that life can take us in several directions, we don’t know what can happen. There are several different obstaclses. I also think the title is pretty ironic to my opinion though, “The Garden of Forking Paths”.
