The Library of Babel #engl303 #002

I think it’s interesting how Borges compares the universe to a library with an infinite number of hexagons. The internet can also be viewed this way. The hexagons in the internet’s case would be websites. Because of the internet’s nature, there are an infinite number of website possibilities, which means the internet is really a large place. It is essentially infinitely big.

Borges also says,

This thinker observed that all the books, no matter how diverse they might be, are made up of the same elements: the space, the period, the comma, the twenty-two letters of the alphabet.

This statement is also true about the internet. Although there are plenty of different websites and the websites can  have vastly different content, all websites are more or less the same at their core.
