#Engl303

As a third year English major, I have a general idea of what English classes are like. You sit down, the teacher gives some generic instruction on essay types, and the rest of the semester is spent talking about the papers you will write when the semester is over. Classes like these are what I am accustomed to; the content may change, but the structure is always more or less the same. However, English 303 has been a much needed breath of fresh air when it comes to English classes. I have been introduced to so many new things while in Multimedia writing and it has given me a better grip on the various ways to write apart from the normal “just type words into Microsoft Word” approach, which is the only way I had done writing assignments before.

The use of Prezi was something I took away from this class that was very useful. Using it in my blog response as well as the multimodal project really opened my eyes to the concept of moving text and made it apparent how much better it is then a regular PowerPoint. I had never used it before and now it is something I will look into incorporating in future classes. More than just applications, however, Multimedia writing helped me to realize how the Internet can be used to tie a class together outside of the classroom. It was very interesting to see all of our assignments pooled together, like our blogs or our upcoming collection. With the World Wide Web, all projects were made more convenient and accessible.

I can honestly say that I learned things in English 303 that I will use in the future. This course gets the recommendation from me.

  1. I completely agree. Prezi is something that I learned to use too and it definitely will use it in the future. Moving text makes such a difference because it helps your brain remember the text and Prezi allows the author to make their text move.
