After reading chapter one in the reading “economics of attention” it basically confirms what Ive been thinking about. This world has come a long way. We have so many new resources that are being introduced to us on a daily basis. These resources of course coincide with our economy. Resources includes what is learned in school, physical materials etc. As stated in the reading, “When our children come home and tell us that they have decided to major in English or art history, no longer need we tremble for their economic future.” This is said because we are set up to go and get an education, which is very expensive, and most of our economy depends on us. When talks about majors, its telling us at the end of our college career, what are we going to do to contribute to the economy? Additionally, car companies, prices, finances, taxes etc, this all goes into the attention of the economy. Now, Whats next for text? Honestly, who truly knows where text is going to go. Text has gotten so big. There are so many things for text. When I’m able to switch words around. Type fast, erase, insert, copy, paste etc that is wild. People don’t really think about it like that because they are so use to it, but when we truly think about it, its a amazing. In the reading “whats next for text”, Section 9, which is titled “animated writing”, is what really caught my attention. Back then, and even continued, people use to write differently. Writing with animation added a flavor to writing. Its like an attention grabber. When things are written with color and different shapes it is more likely to spark interest in its readers.
