Now this has been something that never leaves my medulla. They’re not hitting it with full force yet, but it will get there eventually. Even already having prior knowledge, Ubiquitous Mobile, Persistent Surveillance still boggled me. Looking passed the options for applied security on ones social network website, it goes so much deeper. Deep enough we physically have no way to prevent any watchful eye from accessing it. Did you know, every tweet you post gets put into some sort of “storage”? It was a article I found last year sometime, tried finding it to share but had no luck. But I do recall it was mainly for anyone looking to enter the the work field dealing with law and legalities they used damn near everything against you.
I’m sure everyone is aware, but Mr. Zuckerburg has some way of being able to tell every website you visit due to your access of Facebook. It’s actually what influences the type of promotions made visible on your home screen. Obviously this would be considered Data Mining, but I still consider it to be b.s. I mean, I’m not one to be overly paranoid, but I hardly ever allow applications on my iPhone to “know my current location”.
The whole concept of tracking an individual is bothersome. Unless I am a fugitive of a countries law, or some way in hell a test subject for an injection that gives me ability to fly or run across the ocean to Spain … don’t be concerned of my where-abouts! Well he has enough sense and vision to foresee it, Apple thought it made enough sense to base their commercial on it. I just like my privacy, if I want someone to know something, trust me, I will make it known. I use Voxer instead of making phone calls due to one instance I could of sworn my call was being monitored, it wasn’t far fetched either — don’t judge me :( I’m a good kid.
Cameras are comforting to me, outside of areas with four walls. Public areas are good, but nothing inside a home or in the area to watch your home. Will we honestly have no where to go? The technological advancements are surpassing yesterdays faster, and faster. If we finally realize we can’t escape it, do we accept it and cope? Or will we revolt on a mass scale … leading to something worse then worrying who has a visual of you. Before we know it, Eagle Eye will become a reality. Good movie, but thats over-doing it.
